Introducing the Willoughby Theatre Company
The home of exceptional community theatre - an entertainment destination with something for everyone!
We have been in the North Shore community for over 65 years, providing incredible opportunities for our community to create theatre magic.
Willoughby Theatre Company acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we gather to rehearse and perform, the Cammeraygal people. We pay our respects to the Elders past and present, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the nation.
A better understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures develops an enriched appreciation of Australia’s cultural heritage and can lead to reconciliation. This is essential to the maturity of Australia as a nation and fundamental to the development of an Australian identity.
GET INVOLVED WITH WTC
WTC was built from the ground up by volunteers.
Behind the scenes of our shows and the general running of the company, there are so many people who put the heart and soul into WTC. Donating their time and love to make it all seem like clock work. Our volunteers are the reason Willoughby Theatre Company is so special - integral to getting our shows on the stage, getting our shows lit and set, getting our audience seated with programs and the list goes on, all because of the dedicated community of volunteers we have behind us.
If this sounds like something you would like to be apart of, there are plenty of ways for you to get involved and we’d love for you to join our community!
If you know how to sew, make or source props or want to get involved in lighting, sound or backstage, or even if you are a super friendly/awesome person who loves theatre but not the stage let us know.
NOte from the
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work on various roles within the company, including directing, performing, production management, technical direction, stage management, and design. This breadth of experience demonstrates the endless possibilities available in community groups such as ours and the transformative power of the arts.
I take great pride in being part of a team that has helped make the Willoughby Theatre Company one of the leading community theatre companies in the country. I have formed lifelong friendships through Willoughby Theatre Company; the community and camaraderie that is found here is one of the reasons why people are drawn to community theatre, and why they continue to come back to WTC.
Eveyone is always welcome here. If have been thinking about getting involved, don't be a stranger - contact us today!
